Since you are still reading, I'd like to tell you a bit about myself. This section is supplementary but not part of the CV itself.
I was born In the mid-80s, in East Germany, where my story begins. In the year 1990, my family moved to Slough, near Windsor, in the UK, where I attended school for 22 years. Privately, I enjoyed playing football with my friends, and during my time alone, I played computer games and taught myself graphic design using Corel Draw. My interest in graphic design was strong from the start, and I thought about studying it further. However, I ended up focusing on IT in college, which suited me better.
After finishing my IT diploma, I got an interesting chance to work in freelance game testing for the Microsoft Xbox with Adecco. This job lasted four years. It also let me explore my interest in philosophy by funding courses at the Open University. Even though financial challenges made me stop my formal studies, I never lost my interest in social ethics.
In 2010, I moved back to Germany and started working as a software tester with Sogeti. This job helped me grow professionally and kept alive my hobby of building computers, especially for graphic design. It also allowed me to make a big personal change by moving from using pirated software to subscribing to Adobe Cloud, which I have committed to using for over a decade.
Over the next few years, I took on different roles and worked in various industries, finally landing a job at IBM. Here, I finalised my MBA studies. I finished my MBA with high marks and wrote a paper on AI ethics in 2022, all while working full-time at IBM. After graduating in 2023, I've been focusing on improving business ethics in AI through my work with IBM. My journey is not just about my career but also my ongoing dedication to learning, ethical living, and following my passions, from my early days in East Germany to my current work in AI ethics and business strategy.
Throughout my life, the intertwining of medicine, technology, and innovation, deeply rooted in my philosophical inquiries, has guided my career path. This curiosity was further fuelled by the potential of CRISPR Cas9, quantum computing, AI, and the revolutionary idea of sustainably feeding the world without harming animals or the environment. My time at IBM catalysed a profound exploration into these domains, leading me to question which sector embodies my diverse interests. Cell-based meat emerged as the answer, encapsulating technology, genetic engineering, robotics, and more, all while addressing a crucial ethical challenge: reducing harm to our planet. This convergence of interests and the prospect of making impactful, ethical advancements in food technology inspired my move into cell-cultivated meat, promising a harmonious blend of my passions with the potential for significant global benefit.
